Viktor Orbán: We stand by Poland!
The Brussels regime is attacking Poland this time, and the Poles want to tell them how to live
In connection with the attack on Poland in Brussels, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán assured Polish Prime Minister Andrzej Duda of Hungary's solidarity and full support when he received him at the Carmelite Monastery in Budapest on Thursday, said Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister's press chief.
In addition to the current issues of Hungarian-Polish relations, the main topic of discussion was the attack of the European Commission; for the body's decision on Tuesday abused its power in an unprecedented way: it attacked the constitutional system and identity of a sovereign member state, poland.
He did this when Poland, along with Hungary, is protecting the EU's external borders against increasing migration, the press chief explained at the hearing.
The procedure is outrageous, completely unacceptable and shatters the unity of the European Union, Viktor Orbán said, recalling that the Hungarian government decided at Wednesday's meeting to stand up for Poland. Hungary will examine the possibilities of taking action near Warsaw in European court proceedings, the Prime Minister added.
The European Commission on Tuesday asked Poland to impose a fine on the European Court of Justice until the Warsaw leadership suspends the Supreme Court's disciplinary chamber.
