National Chief Medical Officer Cecília Müller was the first to thank her for saying that in four days, a lot was done to curb the epidemic by those who worked at vaccination points or delivered vaccines there. It was also the case that a dentist helped with vaccinations during the holidays.
276,000 people were vaccinated during the holiday, a significant achievement. New vaccination points were also opened, and 18 additional clinics operated in Budapest during the weekend.
Cecília Müller also talked about vaccination being the way out of the epidemic. As he said, it is an extremely good result that 85% of those over 65 are vaccinated, this proportion is already over 90% among those over 80, which reduces the number of people infected in the elderly. Many vaccines no longer expect people over the age of 65 to be vaccinated, but those who have not yet registered are still encouraged to register by the chief medical officer, stressing that the elderly will receive the vaccine sooner.
Military buses provide services in small settlements, for example in Komárom-Esztergom county, which significantly facilitates the vaccination of people living in small settlements. On Wednesday, 246,870 Pfizer vaccines are coming, of which teachers will continue to be vaccinated.
According to the latest data, the number of people vaccinated in Hungary is 2,432,313, of whom 922,886 have already received their second vaccination. This means that almost 25 percent of the population has already been vaccinated, compared to the EU average of 12.7 percent.
