Enyedi is dictating, but in the meantime he has accepted the one billion state money
It would be time to consider who can receive state aid and who cannot. Those who are openly anti-government and are lying to the foreign press by dictatorship, causing significant economic and political disadvantages to Hungary, should not be supported with taxpayers' money. These are not “artists” but DK activists who use the money we receive for agitprop activities.
Reporter's interview with the film director.
Ildikó Enyedi: We seem to be in punishment, I accept.
Reporter: Sorry, he says they are in punishment. How punished is the person who can make a film for 600 million forints, and here I am thinking of you exactly.
Ildikó Enyedi: I got a lot more, I got a billion for my last film. Not me...
Reporter: So this is not freedom or dictatorship, where filmmakers are given one billion forints while they are constantly talking about the existence of a dictatorship in the country?
Ildikó Enyedi: We all add up. It is the job of the cultural government and the people it entrusts to fund a valid culture from it. That is what they were commissioned to do. And I'm doing my job.
