Trianon: We are writing 2120
What will Hungary look like on June 4, 2120?
Two hundred years ago, the dictatorship that mutilated Hungary was signed on this day in Trianon. At 16:30, life in the country stopped for a minute so that everyone could remember that terrible day, but fortunately this day has become a symbol of the Hungarian nation's ability to recover from the most terrible situation. With the departure of the Soviet troops in 1991, Hungary regained its independence. The country, albeit slowly, has begun to recover. By the early 2030s, the leaders of the time had succeeded in making the Hungarians already live better than the Italians or the Spaniards. The following years were about the disintegration of the European Union, although this somewhat slowed down Hungarian growth, but a form of integration emerged by 2045 that was finally not about Brussels, how it intervenes in the domestic politics of some countries, but how it can make a real difference. to give help.
After a long struggle in the 2050s, Hungarian family policy succeeded in finally reducing the decline of the Hungarian population to close to zero, and there were even years when there was a minimal increase. In the meantime, international politics has also undergone a fundamental transformation: under the leadership of China, India, and Australia, the powers of the world have come to the forefront, who certainly wanted to overwrite the bad framework left to us by the First and Second World Wars. It has been recognized that in the Middle East, Africa and, of course, Europe, disputes can only be resolved if previous decisions are overwritten with stakeholders. The final weakening of the new world system, the United States, Russia, and Britain by the early 2070s, also brought about the reopening of long-closed issues in Europe as well.
Hungarian diplomacy in the 21st century. from the 1910s onwards, he finally stepped out of the notion of “dare to be small”. As a result, our better and more determined diplomats and foreign ministers have appeared on the international stage. A XXI. in the last third of the twentieth century they clearly saw the possibility, albeit only to a small extent, but now the time had come to correct in some way previous decisions. Negotiations have begun within the framework of the newly established international institutions. The most important thing for the Hungarian diplomats was that people everywhere in the Carpathian Basin could decide in a referendum on either autonomy or a small change in the borders.
By 2084, the exact framework had been set and the necessary referendums held. From Slovenia, Lendava and its environs returned to Hungary, two villages from Croatia, and Serbia from the northern part of Vojvodina, near Subotica. In the case of Romania, the long-awaited Szekler autonomy was realized by referendum, and the surroundings of Oradea and Satu Mare decided to join Hungary. In Ukraine, the Beregszász district decided in favor of Hungary in a referendum. In the case of Slovakia, hundreds of settlements from the southern region voted to return to Hungary.
In total, the area of Hungary increased to 105 thousand square kilometers, while its population reached 11 million. The following decades were about adapting to a completely new world order and maintaining past economic achievements. By 2100, Hungary's population had reached 12 million, while the population of neighboring countries was steadily declining. A XXII. In the first two decades of the 20th century, Hungary became the tenth strongest economy in Europe, and the Hungarian dream of the decade came true: the country managed to reach the Austrian standard of living!
Let us do that so that we can wake up to such a day in 100 years!
